Kate Middleton has apparently picked late Princess Diana’s label for her wedding dress. And if Prince William is to be believed, then his bride-to-be chose her wedding dress designer months ago.

The claim was made as one of Princess Diana’s favourite designers emerged as a contender for the commission. Catherine Walker and Co is the name doing the rounds in royal circles as the April 29 nuptials draw closer.

“William bumped into Freddie Windsor just after they announced the engagement last November and told him the designer had already been decided, although he couldn’t say who it was because he didn’t know. But he said Kate had decided and that it was a done deal,” the Daily Express quoted a source as saying.

Catherine Walker died of cancer last year but her design legacy lives on.

She designed over 1,000 outfits for Diana and has been described as a “key figure” in her life.
