Katy Perry and Russell Brand are reportedly meeting in Los Angeles one last time, to discuss the details of their separation. Sources close to Perry say that she has not yet given up on her 14-month marriage to the British film star and comedian.
Brand flew out to LA from London on Friday night, and is also expected to attend the Golden Globes ceremony. “He has agreed to meet her one last time. He wants to sort things out and finalise the divorce,” the Mirror quoted the source as saying.
“Removal trucks have been moving his things out of the house they lived in and into a new place that Russell is renting. He needed to be in LA for the Globes too, so it was an ideal opportunity to meet. He is determined to move on,” the source said. The couple are believed to have agreed to meet on neutral ground, possibly at the Beverly Hills Hotel where the singer is reported to have been staying. Their decision to meet follows an emotional week in which distraught Perry has been comforted by her evangelical minister parents Keith and Mary Hudson.
“Keith and Mary flew from Georgia to Los Angeles earlier this week to be with their daughter,” a close family friend was quoted as saying. “She is doing OK under the circumstances, but this has been a very tough road for her. Keith and Mary have also been reaching out to Russell and sent him a text telling him he is in their thoughts and that they love him,” the family friend said.
Rumours that Christian Denver Broncos NFL star Tim Tebow, was also in Mary’s thoughts as a replacement for Brand have been denounced by the Perry camp. “Mary told me she never said anything of the sort. I don’t think either of Katy’s parents have even met Tebow,” the parents’ close friend Pastor Paul Endrei was quoted as saying. “There is no way that she will start dating again until her divorce is finalized,” he said.
