Starlet Rakhi Sawant laughed for hours, designer Vijay Arora made Rohit Bal pose like Krishna, actress Neetu Chandra ran for hours and singer Shibani Kashyap sang Rang Barse repeatedly for a live audience. The reason — they were all high on bhaang and the spirit of Holi.

As you get ready to enjoy the festival of colour, HT City brings you some bizarre bhaang experiences of celebs and Delhiites.

Designer Vijay Arora says he has too many funny incidents to recall. “Once, we were at a Holi party and I was so high that I made Gudda [Rohit Bal] pose like Krishna with a Bansuri and all, and later my friends dumped me in the pool.”

Model Noyonika Chatterjee says the last time she had bhaang, she took 40 minutes to climb four floors. “I kept on walking up and down the first two floors. And finally when I reached home, I told mom to hold me down, as I wanted to fly,” she says.

Singer Shibani Kashyap recalls, “We were to perform at a Holi party. I was so out of my senses that I kept on singing Rang Barse. Every time I would say ‘here comes a new song’, and end up singing Rang Barse.”

Singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya, who tried bhaang during his college days, says he once sat besides a small, eight-inch wide drain all day, as he thought he would drown if he tried to cross it. Actress Pooja Bedi, who tried bhaang once when she was 17, says, “I kept laughing for six hours, slept for 20 hours, and then ate food for 10 people.”

Delhiites have equally crazy stories to share.
Graphic designer Sanjay Kathuria says, “I have bhaang every Holi. This one time, I cleaned my house twice, washed utensils that I’d already washed and ate up all the food my wife had made for guests.”

BPO employee Gayatri Das says, “I cried non-stop and every time someone asked me why, I cried more!” However, photographer Dev Khanna warns, “I never try bhaang as it’s not safe to go around playing Holi in a state of intoxication.”

After having bhaang, I ran from my brother’s college gate to his hostel gate all day long.
