Lady Gaga: no longer 'monster mom'?
She has had her fans going Gaga over her many fashion statements. But Lady G seems to be toning down to catch up with the times. Durga M Sengupta asks if the singer is joining the bandwagon?
Lady Gaga has shocked her fans again. This time, however, with simplicity. Gaga's transformation over the last few months has been nothing short of drastic.
Gaga, known for her defiance of popular fashion has worn many bizarre costumes in the past. Dressed in insanely tall stilts-ettoes or downright weird plastic costumes with wires and other appendages, Gaga was never the one to look ordinary. However, her recent appearances speak otherwise.
Her first toned down appearance was at her best friend's wedding in early June. Admirers and critics both applauded her for not stealing the bride's thunder.
But Gaga didn't stop there. She showed up in NYC alongside boyfriend Taylor Kinney on a rainy day wearing understated black casuals and classic make-up with red lips et all.
The most surprising of all of Lady G's mainstream looks was her appearance at the NYC LGBT Pride rally where she sang the American National Anthem. Donning black she delivered a heart-warming speech for all present in the crowd. But the rainbrow pride was missing in her choice of clothes.
What happened to the meat-wearing politically charged Gaga?
Her upcoming album Artpop has created some ripples pre-release thanks to a nude picture of Gaga that floated online recently. But alas! Gaga seems to have undressed to align with her critics more than to question them.
What more. The Lady has lost some kilos and has been showing it off ever since.
