Mahesh's ex finds love again

Model Shvetha Jaishankar, who got divorced from tennis ace Mahesh Bhupathi after a seven-year marriage, has found love again and plans to marry him.

Model Shvetha Jaishankar, who got divorced from tennis ace Mahesh Bhupathi after a seven-year marriage, has found love again. But, while Bhupathi made his relationship with actor Lara Dutta official earlier this year when the two got engaged, Shvetha prefers to keep her man’s identity a secret.

“I met this wonderful guy through a common friend. He is affectionate and he makes me laugh,” says Shvetha. “He cooks for me and he understands me well.”

Asked if marriage is on the cards, she says, “Marriage will definitely happen; I am not somebody who can be with someone if the relation is not long term.”

How did she deal with the end of her marriage? “It was not easy. I would not want anyone to go through what I did ... one becomes afraid of trusting people.”

And how will she react if she meets her ex at a social gathering? “I don’t know. He has clearly moved on, and so have I. We are two different individuals, and the world is big enough,” says Shvetha, who plans to get back to modelling, and write a book soon.
