While rumour mills have been on an overdrive about Manisha Koirala’s suspected cancer, Mumbai’s Jaslok Hospital, where the actor was admitted, has said that she was discharged on Friday morning and is “absolutely hale and hearty.”

When we contacted Manisha, she answered the phone but disconnected on knowing that the call was from the media. She did not reply to further calls or our SMSes either.

A close family member of the actor, on condition of anonymity, however said, “There are no confirmations about the reports circulating about Manisha’s health.”

On Thursday afternoon, reports emerged that the 42-year-old actor had been diagnosed with cancer and was being treated by the director of medical Oncology.

The hospital CEO Dr (Col.) R R Pulgaonkar told us, “Manisha is fine. She is a human and can fall sick. We have to respect the privacy of our patients. She was treated but I can’t reveal details. It is not right to speculate.”
