We have seen the bathroom in which US President Barack Obama will take his shower. It has mother of pearl accessories and more than 10 big and small towels. Obama, who is arriving in Delhi on November 7 as part of his first state visit to India, will be accompanied by wife, Michelle.

America’s First couple will stay on the 14th floor — the grand presidential floor — of ITC Maurya at Sardar Patel Marg, which also played host to Obama’s predecessors, George Bush and Bill Clinton. The presidential suite on this floor is named after Chankaya, ancient India’s most famous political strategist.

While the hotel did not comment due to security reasons, there’s more to the grand stay. “The Obamas will be welcomed by receptionists whose costumes will give a preview of India’s diversity. The girls will be dressed as brides of India — one will wear a rich fuschia Maharashtrian saree, complete with a gold -

(waistband),” says an outside source.

“Another will dress up in a flashy zardozi

, and still another, in a flaming orange sari from Bengal, with exquisite gold thread work. The girls are already busy practising their welcome act. Special flowers arrangements will be created to impress the Obamas,” the source adds.

There will also be a huge basket made of silver leafing. Apart from this, there will also be a ‘flame of friendship’ at the hotel’s main entrance.
