“WE WILL ALL BE STREAMING ON REPEAT!,” one chimed in, while another posted, “ariana grande you have done it again, album of the year and it isn’t even a full album.”
Ariana Grande's ‘Hampstead’ appears to reflect her relation with Ethan Slater
Notably, Grande’s album rollout continued with the release of a ‘Slightly Deluxe’ edition featuring four additional songs. This version included collaborations such as ‘Yes, And?’ with Mariah Carey and ‘Supernatural’ with Troye Sivan, along with an acoustic rendition of ‘Imperfect for You’ and a cappella take on ‘True Story.’
With her whirlwind year, Grande stepped into the role of Glinda the Good Witch in Jon M. Chu’s adaptation of Wicked and racked up critical acclaim. Her performance earned her a Best Supporting Actress nomination at the 2025 Oscars.
During the filming of Wicked, Grande spent time in London’s Hampstead neighbourhood. “I was in Hampstead when I was here, and I loved my walks on the Heath,” she told Radio 1. “I loved meandering around and visiting different shops and places and pubs.”
Her song ‘Hampstead’ appears to reflect her relationship with Wicked co-star Ethan Slater.
She seems to touch upon the situation in her lyrics: “I left my heart at a pub in Hampstead / And I misplaced my mind in a good way / Threw away my reputation but saved us more heartache.”
