Former Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger has slammed reports claiming that she is engaged to her racing driver boyfriend Lewis Hamilton.

The singer's father Alfonso Valiente had reportedly told the Daily Mail recently that the couple is preparing to wed, adding, "My future son-in-law is a really nice guy, really down-to-earth. My family all like him."

But the star, who has been dating Hamilton since 2007, quickly took to her Twitter.com page to dismiss the claims, reports Contactmusic.

She writes, "Lewis and I woke up this morning and read we were engaged! Sorry to disappoint u all but its (sic) not true."
