Hollywood actor Michael Douglas has pledged not to use fireworks to celebrate American Independence Day after the show turned dangerous the previous year.

The 66-year-old star insists his surprise light show last year was spoiled by the choppy waters, which turned the surprise light show into a dangerous disaster, reported Access Hollywood.
"We usually go to Spain in the summers, so we make a big Fourth of July ... because we’re not here, we’re not in the US.
“Last time I tried to surprise (the family) with fireworks out in the ocean on a raft, except it started getting a little rough and fireworks started coming in wrong angles,” said Douglas.
The star, who enjoys the annual preparations, admits his effort to entertain his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones and the children failed to work as per the plans.
