Following in the footsteps of other industry veterans like Amitabh Bachchan, Shammi Kapoor, Asha Bhosale and Lata Mangeshkar, Dev Anand too has joined Twitter.
Following in the footsteps of other industry veternas like Amitabh Bachchan, Shammi Kapoor, Asha Bhosale and Lata Mangeshkar, Guide superstar, @itsmedevanand too has joined the micro blogging site.
"Hi this is Dev Anand for the first time on twitter...Luv u all...", he posted his first tweet.
The yesteryear's star was welcomed by Amitabh Bachchan and Javed Akhatar.
He replied to Big B's tweet by saying, "Thanks Amit for welcoming me on twitter...Luv u....".
He also thanked Javed Akhtar by tweeting, "Thanks for all your love and admiration for me and my songs you are always in my thoughts too and I love you for all the creative work you have been doing."
As one and all join the Twitter bandwagon, Anand explains the reason for Twitter, "This sudden tweeting is for my well wishers to know that release of my latest film "CHARGESHEET" is planned for early next year - To quickly follow an outstandingly colorized cinemascope version of my double role "HUM DONO" Rangeen releasing on Jan 28th 2010. Watch the guy you've enjoyed in all eras of this country, Dev Anand of 1961 & in CHARGESHEET celebrating 61st year of Navketan (sic)," he tweeted.
With thousands of fans in the country, the actor already has 1500 followers.
