The grand gala, held on Thursday night, set the stage for a star-studded IPL. Though Preity Zinta was missing in action, ex-beau Ness Wadia made an appearance. Rapper Akon and singer-songwriter Lionel Richie were whisked in through the back door while Shah Rukh Khan came in post-midnight. Cricketers Zaheer Khan, and Sachin Tendulkar arrived in the same car. Among the other biggies present were Yash Birla, Vijay Mallya and Shilpa Shetty.
