Shanghai shut the gates to the World Expo — a six-month exhibition of culture and technology that saw record attendance, a parade of foreign leaders and a display of China’s growing power. The Expo saw a record 72 million visitors witness a smorgasbord of cultures and technologies meant to illustrate ideas for urban sustainability.
