Pictures of the 27-year-old prince surfaced in August on a US gossip website and were later published by the Sun - the only British title to run the photos.
Harry’s office in St James’s Palace said the royals had decided not to pursue a formal complaint given the prince’s current deployment in Afghanistan, Stuff.co.nz reported.
It said it informed the Press Complaints Commission on Thursday.
“Prince Harry is currently focused entirely on his deployment in Afghanistan, so to pursue a complaint relating to his private life would not be appropriate at this time and would prove to be a distraction,” a statement from the palace said.
