These DU freshers are geared up to arrive on campus in style - with the ride of their lives in a Limousine

New clothes? Check. New phone? Check. New bag? Check. And a Limousine? Well, that's what these lucky youngsters will get to flaunt on their first day of college. As part of HT Edge First Day on Campus campaign, these fuchchas will be driven to their respective colleges in a Limousine or a Merc, complete with a red carpet welcome. We decode their plans for the day.

Himanshi Goel, 18
BBE, Gargi College

Goel, an ambitious youngster from Rohini, says she wants to balance fun with studies.
"College is not only about masti... I am a career oriented person, so I would balance the fun and study quotient in college," she says.

Nonetheless, Goel is very excited about her first day to college and plans to dress up in her most fashionable clothes.

"The first thought that struck me when I got a call was what shall I wear. I want to look my best," says Goel, adding, "It's the first time that I will be sitting in such a luxury car. I am totally thrilled."

Avneet Singh, 19
Political Science (Hons), DCAC

An avid football player, Singh didn't mind missing last year's admissions in order to play in the Indian National Football team.

"The game is on my mind 24x7. I got through this college too through the sports quota," says the resident of Gurgaon.

He is looking forward to making some good friends in college.

"Finally it's college time. After slogging for 14 years in school, we have got rid of uniforms," says Singh.

Talking about his limousine-style grand entry to college on first day, an enthusiastic Singh says, "On receiving the call that I've been selected, I thought a friend played a prank. I had to confirm thrice to believe myself."

Raghav Gogia, 17
Bcom (Hons), Sri Venkateswara College

He swears by the quote, 'A search for utopia in the realm of reality'.

This dance lover is looking forward to a happening crowd in the campus. "If you have good crowd around you and good friends, then you can sail through your three years of college life smoothly," says Gogia, a resident of Ansari Road.

After scoring 95% in board exams, Gogia had made up his mind to take up Bcom (Hons) in DU.

Gogia is super excited about his grand entry to college. "Of course yes! I am very excited about the grand entry." He enjoys shopping at malls and DLF Promenade is one of his favourites.

Devansh Kamboj, 18
Bcom (Pass), Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College

Kamboj, like boys his age, cheekily says he is looking forward to "hot girls in hot pants."

For Kamboj, getting through North Campus was always his priority. "I just wanted to be in North Campus. No matter what college I get admission in. I wanted to be a part of the activities there," says Kamboj, a resident of Paschim Vihar.

A hookah lover, Kamboj is thrilled to attend his first day of college in a limo. "I coudn't have had a better first day on campus," he says.

Eva Chopra, 18
B Com (Hons), Kirori Mal College

Chopra, a resident of Rohini, recently revamped her wardrobe for her new innings in college.

"Ever since I have taken admission in college, I have been on a shopping spree. From shoes to tees to bags, I've bought it all," she says.

A school topper, Chopra is excited about riding in a limo for her first day in college.

"I couldn't believe my ears when I got a call from HT. I already feel like a celeb," says Chopra, whose favourite hang out place is QD's in Kamla Nagar for its momos.
