Shanghai, Macau and Istanbul - one of them may host the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) award ceremony this year.

"The city where the IIFA will be held this year is not confirmed yet but three-four cities are bidding for it. Among them are Macau, Shanghai and Istanbul," a source from Wizcraft, organiser of the event, told IANS.

IIFA, which is held over an extended weekend in June every year, takes Indian films abroad and also awards deserving members of Bollywood for their performances in the past year.

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan is the brand ambassador of the event, which has earlier travelled to countries like Britain, South Africa, Malaysia, Singapor, Dubai and Thailand.
