The actor reportedly lodged an FIR on February 5 after an expensive necklace went missing from her house. The Juhu police have registered a theft case against unknown persons and have begun investigating, according to reports.

According to sources, Sonam and her mother Sunita filed a complaint under Section 380 of the Indian Penal Code alleging that the necklace, worth Rs 5 lakh, went missing on February 4 night.

Sonam said that she had returned home late at night from a party where she was wearing the necklace. She kept the jewellery in a drawer in her room.

The necklace was part of Rs 6 crore worth of jewellery the actor had been given by a renowned jeweller. When the jeweller's representative came to collect it in the morning, the necklace was found missing.

To add to the actor's worries, she was also hospitalised after contracting a respiratory infection.

Apparently, Sonam Kapoor contracted the infection while shooting for Prem Ratan Dhan Payo that also features Salman Khan. She also posted a picture on Twitter of her hand with an IV tube saying, "Hate being sick". She later wrote that she was back and well again.
