Controversial Bangladeshi author Taslima Nasreen has come under criticism for opening a Twitter account in the name of her seven-year-old kitten, Minu.

Nasreen, who had picked up Minu from a fish market in Kolkata, started the cat’s Twitter account, Minu The Philosopher, on Valentine’s Day (Feb 14).

“Hi world... I’m a little cat. You’re big humans. But we live in the same world...(sic),” was the first tweet from the feline’s account. But soon, a string of comments from bemused users followed.

“This is the height of crazy! Time to unfollow (sic),” posted FK, a user, while Ankith Amtange wrote, “Good! Now @taslimanasreen can spare us her cat’s philosophies! (sic).” Another user, Yash Misra, posted, “@taslimanasreen: … so sad to see u have only one friend n that also not human! (sic)”. Ironically, Minu has already got 166 followers within four days.
