Vibrant performances, dramatic sets and an energetic audience brought the Hindustan Times Youth Nexus 2011 to a grand end over the weekend. The finale, held at the Birla Mills Compound, Kamla Nagar, saw a big buzz on the stage and an even greater buzz among the audience, with pop sensation Mika Singh rocking the Delhi University campus with his adrenaline-raising numbers.

The day began with Uprisers, the street play competition, which saw social issues like religious discrimination and flaws in the education system proving top topics. Hansraj College was declared the winner. The next thing to set the stage on fire was Campus Funk, the choreography finals. The competition turned out to be a clean sweep by all-girls colleges — Lady Shri Ram and Gargi. The last event of the day was Rockonova — the rock contest. Out of the five mind-blowing performances, Colossal Figures and Dementia were the crowd’s favourites. But, of course, nothing beat Mika’s Ae Ganpat!
