Recently, the couple made an appearance on Karan Johar’s chat show,
Koffee With Karan
, where they revealed how exactly Dutta was proposed to.
Apparently, the two were watching some political TV show at about 2 am at night and suddenly Mahesh asked her to marry him. At first, Dutta thought it was a joke, but soon realised that he was seriously proposing to her.
She obviously said “yes,” but according to her, she was expecting something a lot more romantic.
So, to make up for the impromptu question popped at her in the middle of the night, literally, Bhupathi specially designed the wedding himself and proposed to her properly at the US Open in New York.
