The country’s scorching heat has given Bollywood a good excuse to head out of India to exotic locales — for a vacation or for film shoots. While actor Abhishek Bachchan is having fun shooting in Turkey for Game, the team of Imran Khan starrer Break Ke Baad is chilling out in Mauritius. “I laze around on the beaches and scuba dive when I’m not working,” the actor said.
While actress Kangna Ranaut just returned from a long shooting-cum-holiday in Greece, actress Sameera Reddy is heading to the same destination with sister Meghana. Actresses Sophie Choudry and Preity Zinta are holidaying in Thailand. “People in Thailand are so humble... and they never stop smiling! Love the food here,” said Zinta. Shilpa Shetty and husband Raj Kundra also took a break after IPL to spend quality time in Phuket. “Loving this peace and quiet,” says Shilpa.
DJ Aqeel and wife Farah Khan Ali have taken off to London for a holiday. Konkona Sen Sharma is holidaying in Rome, which she calls “sensational, but fun.” The newly engaged actress Kim Sharma is heading to a long holiday in Europe with her family. While actor Shah Rukh Khan is baby sitting his kids at home, wife Gauri Khan is busy shopping and holidaying in New York Hrithik’s wife Sussanne Roshan, Chunky Pandey’s wife Bhavna and filmmaker Karan Johar. Shah Rukh will however take his family for a holiday to Istanbul in June.
Those who are working are also making most of the occasion. Deepika Padukone is set to join Imran in Mauritius and says she will become a “professional scuba diver” there. Sonam Kapoor is in Canada to shoot for Thank You, along with Akshay Kumar has also joined her. Actor Salman Khan will head to Canada to shoot for Ready. Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif and Abhay Deol will head to Spain by month’s end to shoot for Zoya Akhtar’s film.
