I do know that Vidya Balan is an enthusiastic actress. But I was totally oblivious to her go-getter attitude towards good roles too. Mots tells me that the abhinetri met Rakeysh Mehra at Wharton School, Pennsylvania, where they had gone to talk about Globalisation of Mainstream Cinema recently.

During the course of their conversation, Balan asked Mehra about casting for Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, his biopic on apna legendary athlete, Milkha Singh. When the filmmaker replied that he was concentrating on completing the script first, the actress recalled reading about her being The Flying Sikh’s choice to play his wife Nirmala.

Seems Mehra was amused and he told her that he’d surely consider her after finishing the final draft. Naturally, Balan couldn’t pursue anymore then, but she’s believed to have told him that she’ll be connecting with him regarding this movie again. Attagirl!
