Vidya Balan could well teach a few lessons in self-respect to some of our movie town demigods, remarks Rapchik Rajni as she settles into the rattan chair by my French window. Elaborate, I order and she tells me that the star showed her khuddaari recently in Delhi.

Seems after wrapping up the shooting of No One Killed Jesicca in the Capital, the abhinetri opted to drop in at an art gallery to check out what was on the exhibition. The owner was so thrilled with Balan’s presence at his gallery that he expressed a desire to gift her a work of art.

But not one to accept gifts just like that, Viddy politely declined, saying that the paintings were expensive and she couldn’t take such mehenga tohfas. Seeing the gallerywallah persist, Viddy chose to purchase something.

That wasn’t enough for the man, and eventually, Viddy gave in to his pleas… and accepted a small artwork as a gift after she paid for the painting she had selected. Now, if only more of our stars were as like-minded. Hai na?
