The captain of the Indian cricket team, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, and the vice-captain of the team, Virat Kohli, have both set a style trend with their recent buzz hawk haircuts. And, though photos of Dhoni with his new hairdo surfaced before those of Virat, the vice-captain claims that he, and not his captain, is the trendsetter in tress matters.

“Meine pehle style karwa liya tha, then I saw MSD ne bhi karwaya hai. Aap baal katwa lo, photo aa jaaye to style ban jata hai. Agar mein topi pehen ke aata to kisi ko pata nahin chalta,” he says, stressing that his fans would have missed his cut had he worn a cap instead of flaunting it like Captain Cool.

And it is not just in matters of style that this 24-year-old seems to be leading the way. Trade reports suggest that Virat has surpassed veteran Sachin Tendulkar and Dhoni in endorsement earnings. However, Virat doesn’t seem to be impressed by this feat. “This is not my aim. I would prefer surpassing them in cricket rather than in bagging endorsements. I will be more than happy if I am able to perform the way Sachin and MSD have, over the years,” he says.

Thrilled about Sachin’s milestone of 200 test matches, he adds, “He is the most deserving player for this achievement ... I’m happy to be part of the match.”
