Voice inside my head
Miss K is what in cinema world they call the ‘starlet’. This is her weekly diary.
Have I told you that I love Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Sorry, but it’s probably the

Guzaarish
hangover.
Killer audition
That being one of the highlights of my week, the other was an audition for the role of a psycho killer on a
CSI
type TV show. After taking a couple of deep
pranayam
breaths, I walked into the audition room where I executed the murder by stabbing the imaginary victim repeatedly. Thereafter, I was told to break into sinister laughter and finally break down. Full throttle and unplugged. Too SRK? Not to worry, I did another (safety) take where I played it neutral, like Anthony ‘
Hannibal
’ Hopkins.
The preview
The mother of highlights this week has been the completion of my first movie. After a journey of its own, it is finally edited; complete with dubbing, sound effects and colour correction. The preview with the team too has taken place. So the film’s complete? – Yes, but has it found any takers yet? - No and will it get an official release? - I don't know. We're hoping it gets distributors, considering it has no stars or songs and is shorter than standard feature films. Nevertheless for me it’s been my first experience of working with a film crew, playing a character for over 90 minutes as opposed to a 30 second ad.
The review
I got great feedback for my performance and was rated 8 on 10 by my brother. Everyone needs an honest critic and my big-bro is just that. So there’s 1) what people think, 2) what I think they think, and finally there’s what I think. The first, ladies and gentleman, is beneficial to know, the second is a colossal waste of time and it’s the last that really matters.
Always remember this; confidence comes from how you feel about yourself, it’s isn’t what someone says about you that makes you who you are. I used to be overly concerned about what other people thought, till I realised how psychologically and mentally debilitating it is. It’s ultimately your life and what you want from it, even if it’s death, as essayed beautifully in
Guzaarish
. The hangover still continues...
