A two-year-old Chinese girl survived a 10th-floor fall from her house-window after a passer-by came up with a quick reaction and caught her. The woman broke her arm from the impact.

A two-year-old Chinese girl survived a 10th-floor fall from her house-window after a passer-by came up with a quick reaction and caught her.

Wu Juping, 31, a mother of a seven-month-old baby saw the child dangling from the window, and quickly kicked off her high-heeled shoes to run towards her with outstretched arms.

According to a Chinese News Agency, the toddler, named ‘Niu Niu’, had been left at her Hangzhou home alone when the accident took place, reports the Daily Mail.

While Niu has been hospitalized for internal bleeding and remains in a critical condition, Juping, who was lauded as a ‘heroine’ on Chinese television, has is also recovering a broken arm in a hospital in Fuyang city.

Jin Dengfeng, the director of the hospital, which offered to treat Juping free of charge when it had heard of her actions, said the woman had risked her life in the venture.

“She could have died or been paralysed for life if the child had hit her head or her back,” he said.

However, Juping did not repent her action.

“I don’t regret anything that happened. I just hope that Niu Niu will recover,” she added.
