Style matters to you. So why should it be any different for your pooch? Now, an online store,
that launched in November, is offering designer threads and helping pet parents choose the right clothes and accessories for their dogs.
“We design our own line. It isn’t procured from retailers or manufactures,” says Akeksha Harihar, founder of urbanbrat.com.
On offer at the store are designer beds, charms, jewellery, leather coats and a host of accessories, all exclusively made for pooches. Prices begin at Rs 400 for T-shits and could go up to Rs 1200 – Rs 1500 for doggie blankets.
If that’s not all, they also provide fashion advice. Pet parents, unaware of what to buy their dogs or what could suit them, can send in their queries and get the necessary guidance. Harihar says, “It is mandatory for our shoppers to send in details like their dog’s breed and the city they live in. While processing orders, if we feel that something that they have ordered doesn’t add up, we call them and suggest other options. After all, besides the style, even the pet’s comfort matters.”
Dishing out some style tips to pet parents, Harihar adds that the size of the dog, breed, fabric and even colour should be taken into account while zeroing in on a specific item of clothing or accessory. The store has also introduced doggie muffins, cookies and Christmas goodie bags. We’re sure that man’s best friend will woof his approval.
Don’t fit your dog into a jacket if you live in warm climes.
You can’t choose a large-size dog T-shirt for a Chihuahua!
If you have a Rottweiler, you cannot choose girly pinks and mushy dog clothing.
Cotton, jersey and satin are favourites.
Have a set of clothing and accessories for special occasions.
