Before she took to the ramp at the just concluded Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week for her next film, Jail, Mugdha explained how eagerly she is looking forward to its release. “I play Neil Nitin Mukesh’s live-in girlfriend in the film, which takes a look inside Indian jails. Madhur [Bhandarkar] is a good director. He is also very patient with his actors,” she said.

Hardly about two years in Bollywood, and Mugdha has already experimented with varied genres of acting. A realistic Fashion and comic caper All The Best later, her third film deals with yet another serious issue. “It’s nice to be playing so many different characters in such a short span. My next movie, opposite Bobby Deol, is a horror one. Debutant Rajeev Virani is directing it.”

From being a prominent fashion model who “used to wait in a queue to getting her make-up done during fashion weeks”, Mugdha has also graduated to being a star who comes an hour before the show, rushes through her make-up, walks the ramp and leaves. “A lot has changed around me, only I’m the same,” she signed off.
