If the address were Mumbai, chances are, the front row would be teeming with Bollywood faces. But busy schedules and family commitments are preventing most film stars from attending Delhi’s premiere Couture Week.

Manav Gangwani, who can usually be counted upon to pack the front row with famous friends like Hrithik and Sussanne Roshan, Kangna Ranaut and Zayed Khan, says, “In Mumbai, we have more Bollywood celebrities and friends attending. I expect the attendance to be mostly corporate crowds in Delhi,” he says, adding, “Just because the stars aren’t attending doesn’t mean the glamour quotient will be reduced. Everything from the invites to the ambience at the venue spells couture.”

Gangwani also insists that his celebrity friends aren’t under any pressure to attend his shows. “They could have many reasons for not attending, be it family commitments or conflicting shooting schedules. And I usually don’t decide who will be walking the ramp as showstopper until just 48 hours before the event.”

Bachchan family couturiers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla also deny celebrity presence. “This time it will be about the clothes,” says Khosla. “We won’t have anybody walking the ramp.”

One of the only people bringing in a star seems to be Raakesh Agarvwal, who will be making his Couture Week debut. “Jacqueline Fernandes will be walking the ramp, but I can’t reveal any details of her garments.”
