The long and loose duster coat can never disappoint you. “Whether you pair yours with tonal separates or opt for a subtle palette of navy and black, ensure your coat hits a few inches above the ground to get the perfect look”, says Nitin Chawla, Theorem. “Invest in a dressy duster which can be teamed with any Indo-western dress very easily”, says designer Nachiket Barve. Whether you are curvy like Kim Kardashian or slim like Olivia Wilde, the wrap coat will definitely suit you.

Whether you love James Bond or Harry Styles, the Chesterfield coat is the perfect accompaniment for the dapper gents. “It is generally worn over suits and younger men can carry it off well”, adds designer Nachiket Barve.

But it will keep you extra warm on the chilliest of days. “Yes, Parka can be a bit boring if you don’t mix it up with smart pants and high heels maybe”, says Nachiket Barve. People don’t find it appealing because of its furry-edged collar but still can carry off the hood. And Tom Hardy as Bane didn’t help change that opinion.

Pea coat is an all time classic and is a must have for everyone. One thing to remember while buying a peacoat is buy the right fit and make sure that it should end right below your hip. Too long or short could make you lose that edgy look. “For those looking for something slightly more individual, consider purchasing one in a rich camel or burgundy colour way. Every style-conscious man should own this coat”, adds designer Nitin Chawla.

Why not make wrapping up in the chilly weather a lot more stylish? The cape coat can do the wonders for the simplest outfit. “Women wore capecoats in 1940’s and 50’s, right after independence. It was fashionable to wear it over sarees and my mom beautifully carried it in those days. Capes are making a comeback now”, says fashion stylist Prasad Bidapa. “If you decide on wearing a winter cape coats, play up their retro features and team them with some wide legged jeans or flares for a ‘70s inspired feel”, adds Nitin Chawla. But guys remember to keep the detailing simple and don’t overdo that royal look and you’ll look like Cumberbatch in no time.
