Koena Mitra got her third tattoo done on Tuesday. And keeping in tune with her obsession with tattoos that resemble jewellery, this one is designed as an anklet.

Her previous tattoos include designs of a waist chain and a ring. The actress says, “I have always loved wearing anklets, waist chains and rings, but I generally end up losing or breaking them. One day, it occured to me that I should get a permanent waist chain done because the jewellery keeps on getting stuck somewhere or the other. Changing them everyday is a pain too. Permanent tattoos look cool and also stay with you for life.”

Koena says that while the process is painful, the final outcome is well worth the pain. “My waistchain took seven and a half hours to get completed. It’s painful, but once they start, it gets better. My tattoo artist says that girls are better then guys at taking pain.”

She also admits that getting a tattoo done was an impulsive decision. “I was shooting at Aalims [the tattoo parlour] for a film magazine, and I just saw the design and loved it. The next day, I got it. For me, if I like a thing I want it there and then. I don’t think I’ll get another tattoo for the next six months now,” she says, adding, “All my friends loved it. They’ve always felt that I am very brave and can deal with the pain. They are all going gaga over my new tattoo.”
