Love on the ramp

Be it Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Arjun Rampal or Gregory David Roberts, they have all made their better halves feel special on the LFW ramp, writes Garima Sharma.

There is no cliche attached to Indian men when it comes to wooing. But, the past couple of days at the Lakme Fashion Week have brought in a pleasant change. Be it Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Arjun Rampal or Gregory David Roberts, they have all made their better halves feel special.

The Mai Mumbai show saw the first of these with Arjun Rampal folding his hands in an apologetic gesture to Mehr Jessia on the ramp. There were rumours of them getting into a tiff backstage and Arjun’s act was seen as an appeasing gesture by many. The doting husband also gave a peck on Mehr’s cheek. The same show also saw Gregory David Roberts and Princess Francoise Sturdza walk the ramp where Roberts went down on one knee and kissed her hand. Arbaaz Khan blew a kiss at his expecting wife Malaika Arora Khan while walking the ramp for Wendell Rodrick. For Manish

Malhotra’s show, Shah Rukh Khan thanked his wife Gauri for being “understanding.” However, the cake goes to Akshay Kumar for his ‘daring’ yet ‘sweet’ act for Tarun Tahiliani’s show. During the final act, as a model gripped for the button on Akshay’s denims, he pushed her away and walked towards wife Twinkle Khanna in the first row and gestured her to unbutton it. A much embarrassed Twinkle obliged him.
