Designer label Satya Paul, known for its signature saris, has announced the name of their new fashion director, who will get on board starting this month.

Designer Masaba Gupta, who is popular for incorporating quirky prints in her collections, is taking over the brand’s reigns, and will be re-locating to Delhi for the same. Gupta’s camera and cow print saris and jackets have been a hit with Bollywood celebs. “I hope to bring a lyrical and youthful image, yet keeping the aesthetic of the brand intact,” she said.

Before her, designer Puneet Nanda was spearheading the label. The label has also revealed that it will collaborate with actor Lisa Ray, who will design an exclusive fashion line for the brand. The proceeds from the sales of the collection will go to the Living With Cancer initiative. For her wedding with banking executive Jason Dehni in October, Lisa had worn a sari by the brand.
