Print Fashion Week 2016 raises a toast to the fashion rebels
On Day 2, fashion designer Namrata Joshipura presents her rebellious and fun take on sporty luxe.
True fashion has a mind of its own. Liberating and nonconforming, it has the ability to break conventions and stir a rebellion. On Day 2 of HT City Print Fashion Week, we celebrate this free spirit of fashion that doesn’t succumb to norms. We present to you fashion designer Namrata Joshipura’s lively and avant-garde collection Concrete Garden, inspired by the vibrancy of New York. “The city is a mash-up of amazing street style juxtaposed with innovative ideas in fashion, art and technology. Cultures and attitudes blend to make an incredible international city that is about inclusivity, hope, and above all, love,” says Joshipura.
You see these very attributes reflected in her collection that’s fearless and inspiring. Not for the fashion greenhorns, it features imaginative, lighthearted garments such as jumpsuits, sheer maxis with jackets and thigh-high slit dresses that spell unbridled glam. Playful cuts, cheerful florals and sequin work bring alive the garments that are equally apt for a honeymoon or a sparkly wedding cocktail.
