Scarlett Johansson has graced the cover of Harper's Bazaar's annual fashion portfolio clad in a dramatic gold leather Prada dress, topped over an understated knitted sweater.

"To be included in the annual photo shoot is considered one of fashion's most privileged honours, and showing just how important the fashion spread is, it was photographed by designer and king of couture, Karl Lagerfeld," Daily Mail reports.
The fashion spread appears in the September issue of all 29 editions of the magazine, across 45 countries, as well as online.
Described as "Modern Marilyn", the magazine has immortalised Scarlett as an unforgettable icon.

The issue carries a special called "Singular Beauties" with 20 images of which Scarlett's is the first. The issue also includes interesting images of actors like Dakota Fanning, Lily Collings, Zoe Kravitz and Gabourey Sidibe of Precious fame.

'Redefining beauty', the issue brings women who absolutely contrast each other and yet remain singularly beautiful together. Leading the powerful photo feature, Scarlett not only appears perfectly confident, but also oozes classic sensuality. Much like Monroe herself.
"Our modern Marilyn and the star of this fall’s Don Jon" is how Harper's Bazaar proudly describes her.
Furthermore, it declares her as the undisputed "Queen of Screen and Stage."
For someone who can carry off style that brings together conservative tones with high flying colours, and makes it look just right, a title like that seems fitting.
