While actor Shah Rukh Khan went for a printed bandana, actor Akshay Kumar sported a striped stole around his head. Actor Ranbir Kapoor is often spotted wearing fun bandanas that he teams with his jerseys to ace the sporty chic look.
Experts say that this trend is a throwback to thefreewheeling 90s.

“Bandanas have been popular the world over for a long time. It’s one of those men’s accessory that never goes out of fashion. It’s great to see men wearing banadanas again in their contemporary avatars,” says designer Rina Dhaka. The designer says that it’s also the perfect headgear for the Indian climate. “Bandanas are not just stylish but act as a sunblock too. They are a great way to inject fun into your style while protecting yourself from the sun. More so, since Indian men tend to give sunscreens a miss,” she says.

Experts also vote for bandanas as a cool style fix for bad hair days. "They make for a great accessory when your hair is not in its best form. Experiment with different colours, prints, sizes and fabrics to avoid boredom," suggests Yatan Ahluwalia, image consultant.

However, designer Namrata Joshipura has a word of caution. “Make sure your outfit teams well with your bandana. Also, pick up something that suits your personality. Stay away from chintzy prints and loud colours,” she says.
