Bollywood divas seem to be enamoured with the white salwar kameez. Most A-list actors, of late, have ditched their minis for the classic Indian outfit on the red carpet. Bipasha Basu, for instance, wore an Anarkali-style salwar while she was promoting Lamhaa in June. The lady, known for her sexy thigh-high minis, cut a pretty picture in an all-Indian avatar.

Aishwarya Rai, after her various appearances in gowns by international designers, wore a salwar kameez in pristine white while promoting Robot. Deepika Padukone wore the outfit several times while promoting Lafangey Parindey. “It [the white salwar-kameez] is my all-time favourite… and also, white colour looks best during summer season,” she says.

Kangna Ranaut wore the dress for promotional activities of Once Upon a Time In Mumbai last month, while Kareena Kapoor wore it to a TV reality show and then for a press conference for her film We Are Family last week. “I think white and gray are the colours of the season. They are subtle and classy, and a touch of Indianness always adds the right amount of glamour,” she feels.
