The MSI Raider 18 HX AI was featured at the recent Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2026, emphasising a shift toward integrated AI capabilities and hardware efficiency. For the gaming and high-performance segment, MSI introduced updates to the Raider series with redesigned chassis, modified cooling systems and a revised Input/Output (I/O) layout to improve the overall user experience and thermal management.
“The complete redesign of our gaming line-up – including refined thermals for the best performance, slimmer profiles and upgraded I/O – was directly inspired by user feedback. Intel® Core™ Ultra 9 285HX processor and local AI processing
At the core of the MSI Raider 18 HX AI operations is the Intel® Core™ Ultra 9 285HX processor. This architecture consists of 24 cores, divided into 8 performance-cores and 16 efficient-cores, operating with a Max Turbo frequency of 5.5 GHz. It includes an integrated Neural Processing Unit (NPU) to handle AI-specific calculations locally on the device. As a gamer, this high core count allows you to prioritise game engine calculations on performance-cores while you leave background tasks like voice chat software, game recording or streaming encoders to the Efficient-cores. This reduces the likelihood of frame rate fluctuations.
