7 booked for groundwater misuse

At least seven industrial plot owners, including two developers, on Tuesday were booked for using groundwater for construction.
The FIRs were registered after a Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) team, led by Servesh Joon and Malibu Towne resident Raman Sharma found the accused using groundwater in violation of the Punjab and Haryana high court order that restricted the use of the resources for such works.
Cases were registered against four plot owners in Sector 32 institutional area and two developers -- Sonu Developers and Malibu Estate Private Limited -- on Sohna Road.
Huda has been conducting frequent checkings after the high court asked the state to restrict misuse of groundwater in Gurgaon district.
