Angry councillors began shouting and said a three-month recess was completely unacceptable.

The last MCG meeting was held on April 26. It has been three months since the House sat to discuss important development agenda.

“A three-month gap is not acceptable. It was decided in the January 6 meeting that regular fortnightly or monthly meetings will be conducted in the future,” said Subhash Singla, councillor Ward 18.

He said the delay is hampering the growth of the city.

“Property tax, Budget 2012, unapproved colonies and hundreds of other important issues are pending. All these are issues that need to be discussed on priority basis,” he added.

The councillors were particularly upset with the Haryana government's negligent attitude in approving the MCG budget for 2012-13. "This is a serious matter and we need to tell the government how its laidback attitude is hampering the city's growth," said Mangat Ram Bagri, another councillor. He said the House should discuss this issue in the next meeting. The councillors requested mayor Vimal Yadav to call monthly meetings. "From now on, the House will sit down to discuss development agenda every month," said the mayor.
