Counterfeit software seized after police raid

The city police on Wednesday conducted raids on two firms in Sector 37 and seized counterfeit software being used for designing auto mobile components.

The city police on Wednesday conducted raids on two firms in Sector 37 and seized counterfeit software being used for designing auto mobile components.

Narendra Kadiyan, assistant commissioner of police (city), said a team raided the premises of auto component manufacturing firms — Classicut and Micromould Engineering.

Two persons, Jaibir Singh and Vaibhav Lal, were arrested, the police said.

The duo has been booked on relevant charges under sections of the IT and Copyright Acts. The two were later granted bail by a local court.

The police raid came after a complaint by Dhirendra Phogat owner of Brand Protectors India.
