A 21-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her mother’s live-in partner in Gurgaon.
A 21-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her mother’s live-in partner in Gurgaon.

A case was registered at the Sector 5 police station on Thursday on the directions of chief judicial magistrate Suruchi Atreja, the police said.
The girl claimed that she had approached the women police station as well as the local police station, but her mother pressurised her to withdraw the complaint. So she knocked at the court’s door on Thursday.
The girl’s statement was recorded by the duty magistrate under Section 164 of CrPC on Thursday night and her medical examination was conducted at Civil Hospital, the police.
The girl hails from Jhunjhunu in Rajasthan and had been living with her mother and her boyfriend at Luxman Vihar in Sector 5.
In her complaint, the girl has claimed that her father died in 2008, after which she and her mother moved to Gurgaon in 2012.
Within a few days of moving to Gurgaon, her mother started living with her boyfriend in Sector 5, said the police quoting the complaint.
The accused hails from Charkha Dadri in Bhiwani and had been living in Gurgaon for the past four years, said the police.
The girl has claimed that the accused had tried to get friendly with her several times, but she did not approve of it. She claimed that her mother was aware of his intentions but never objected.
On December 15, when the mother was not at home, the accused raped the girl and threatened her against telling about it to anyone, the police said.
However, the girl narrated the incident to her mother. But instead of taking any action against her live-in partner, the mother abused and slapped the girl.
The girl then approached the women police station and city police station, but she was pressurised by her mother to take back the complaint.
Inspector Shailender Singh, SHO of the Sector 5 police station, said, “We have registered the case and are conducting raids to arrest the accused. He was forcing the victim to stay with him. But the victim did not feel safe there and so she now wants to live alone at her house in Sector 45.”
The girl’s father had built a house in Gurgaon Sector 45.
