Gurgaon couple crushed under car after expressway collision

A couple were crushed under the wheels of a speeding sedan on the Delhi-Gurgaon expressway on Wednesday after the bike they were riding hit a speed breaker and lost control.

Parveen Singh Rathore (37) and his wife Anupama (34), who resided in Palam Colony Delhi with their two school-going children, met with the accident around 11.30am at the defunct Sirhaul toll plaza. They were immediately rushed to a private hospital in DLF City Phase 3 by the car driver, where doctors declared them dead on arrival.

The sedan, with a temporary registration was being driven by Samira Sisodia, a woman executive of a multinational company. She was charged with sections 279(rash driving) and 304A(death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code.

DCP East Deepak Saharan said, “The sedan had a temporary registration number and we have impounded the car. We will arrest the accused on Thursday and will produce her at a city court. The accused’s husband Dinesh Sisodia has been asked to produce the vehicle registration documents”.

Rathore worked in a glass company at Jharsa chowk sector 15, and his wife worked with a private company in DLF Cyber City. Police said it took a few hours to locate the relatives of the victims and that it was only after they reached in the evening that a case could be registered against the accused.
