Two persons were killed in separate accidents in Gurgaon’s Golf Course Road and Sector 30 road. While the first incident took place on Sunday, the second occurred on Monday.
In the first incident, two persons were mowed down opposite the Vipul Belmonte apartment by a rashly driven car on Sunday. While one of them succumbed to his wounds, the other was critically injured in the accident. While the victim was identified Mahesh Mistri, a carpenter, his injured colleague was identified as Kishori. Both were on their way to Suncity in Sector 4 to look for work.
Based on the complaint filed Abhimanyu Yadav, also a carpenter from Nawada in Bihar, a case was registered against the car’s driver. Yadav was with the two when the incident took place. While the victim was a resident of Sector 43, his friends, too, live in the same area.
Yadav said that his friends were critically injured after being hit by the car and one of them succumbed to injuries while being treated in a hospital.
Yadav told police that when they reached Golf Course Road, Mahesh and Kishori broke away briefly to relieve themselves. However, as they were crossing the road, a speeding car mowed them down, the complainant said. He said instead of stopping and volunteering to rush his friends to a hospital, the driver sped off. However, he said, the car’s number plate was broken and fell off as the driver sped away. He said he noted down the car’s number before informing the police.
“I had to hail an auto-rickshaw to take my friends to a hospital. However, Mahesh succumbed to his injuries while being treated, while Kishori was shifted to a Delhi hospital for further treatment,” Yadav said.
The police said that a case under sections 279, 337 and 304-A of the Indian Penal Code has been registered at Sector 53 police station and the matter is under investigation.
