Gurgaon road rage: Two hit IPS officer’s car, misbehave with him, wife

In an incident of road rage, two persons were arrested on charges of colliding with the car of an IPS officer and his wife and misbehaving with the couple on Sohna road on Saturday night.

In an incident of road rage, two persons were arrested on charges of colliding with the car of an IPS officer and his wife and misbehaving with the couple on Sohna road on Saturday night.

The police said IPS officer Amit Nigam and his wife Namrata were travelling in their car when another car, which was allegedly being driven rashly, hit the officer’s car near Tikri Mod on Sohna road on Saturday night. In her complaint, Namrata complained that the accused were drunk and misbehaved with her and her husband.

Based on her complaint, the personnel from Sadar police station arrested accused Kavinder Chand of Jhajjar and Ved Prakash of Dehradun.

They were booked under sections 279 (rash and negligent driving), 294 (obscene act), 336 (endangering life or personal safety), 337 (causing hurt), 427 (mischief causing damage) of the IPC and the Motor vehicle act, said investigating officer ASI Virender.

In another accident, a 40-year-old biker was killed after being hit by a bus on Delhi-Gurgaon expressway on Monday morning.

Police said the victim, Pappu Lal, was travelling from Delhi to his company when a bus hit him from the rear on the expressway near Star Mall.

The Sector 40 police station was alerted about the accident around 9:50 am and a team rushed to the spot.

The police took Lal to a hospital where he was declared brought dead. Lal lived in Begmpur area of Delhi and travelled to Gurgaon where he worked with a private company in Sector 37.

Assistant sub inspector Sandeep Kumar said the bus driver was arrested and the vehicle was seized.

He said the victim sustained serious injuries on his head and neck. The police at sector 40 police station booked the bus driver for negligent driving causing death of a person.
