Members of Clean Gurgaon, Malba Hatao, Gurgaon First, We The People and Gurgaon Action Plan met MCG commissioner Ashok Sangwan and chief engineer BS Singroha to push for identification of a transit dumping site till the civic body gets green clearance for a proposed recycling plant at Kachra Chowk — a protected zone of the Aravalis along the Gurgaon-Faridabad expressway.
“During the meeting, the commissioner said there should be no delay in marking at least two of the six proposed sites for debris disposal. Now, we want this issue to gain some impetus on part of the civic body,” said Ruchika Sethi Takkar, a citizens’ group representative.
Meanwhile, when asked about latest developments with regard to disposal sites, Singroha said, “We are working to identify alternative transit dumping sites but the matter can gather steam only after the new commissioner takes charge.”
