Kurta worth ₹10,500 stolen from store in Ambience Mall
Three women entered the showroom of ethnic wear fashion label, Masaba, located on the first floor of the mall, and allegedly stole a ‘starting range designer kurta’, concealing it surreptitiously underneath their clothes.
A gang of three women allegedly stole a designer kurta worth ₹10,500 from the showroom of an ethnic wear fashion label, Masaba, in Ambience Mall on Wednesday evening.

The label is run by popular designer Masaba Gupta.
According to the police, the incident took place around 7.30pm on Wednesday. Three women entered the store, which is located on the first floor of the mall, and allegedly stole a ‘starting range designer kurta’, concealing it surreptitiously underneath their clothes.
The store manager noticed their suspicious body language and questioned one of the women, which alerted the other two, who fled with the kurta.
The police were called in and one of the suspects, Renu (45), was taken into custody.
“The store was crowded at the time and in the commotion, one of the women picked up an ethnic kurta and put it underneath her clothes. They were holding 6-7 kurtas that they had picked up from the rack and could have stolen more had I not raised the alarm,” the store manager, requesting anonymity, said.
“I am traumatised by the incident and have been on leave for the last two days. After the police were called in, the suspect abused and threatened me with dire consequences,” she said.
Dilip, a worker at the store, said this was the first theft at the outlet since it opened in February. The CCTV footage from the store was shared with the police.
Head constable Kulvinder said, “We are scrutinizing the CCTV footage of the store. The investigation is on to trace the suspects. We have registered a case against unknown persons under Section 380 of the IPC at DLF Phase-2 police station.”
The spokesperson for Masaba brand refused to comment on the incident.
