It would be suffice to say the city robbers have kept pace with the changing times.

At a time when most people prefer to carry debit/credit cards in their wallets instead of hard cash - for fear of being waylaid - robbers have started forcing the victims to disclose their ATM pins at gunpoint.
The accused forcibly drag the victims to ATM booths and assault them till the time they do not disclose their passwords.
These armed-conmen specifically target working professionals. After getting the passwords, they dump the unconscious victims and take out all the cash or go on a shopping spree in the nearest mall - in case of a credit card.
Uma Shankar, one of the victims, was abducted by a gang of cabbies from Shankar Chowk in February. “It was because I was carrying ATM cards that the gangsters targeted me. They snatched all my cards and withdrew money from all the cards one by one. I had written the secret PINs at the back of all the cards as I tend to forget them," said Shankar.
Vishal Sharma, who was also lifted by a gang of cabbies from Iffco Chowk, left the city after the incident."I forgot the ATM PIN out of fear. They fractured both my hands and legs as I could not recall the correct PIN.”
