Official held for bribery
Officials of the state vigilance bureau on Wednesday caught a man red-handed accepting a Rs 50,000 bribe at the land acquisition office.

Officials of the state vigilance bureau on Wednesday caught a man red-handed accepting a Rs 50,000 bribe at the land acquisition office.
The accused, 50-year-old Satyanarayan Kanungo, hails from Bhiwani.
According to officials, he was allegedly demanding Rs 1 lakh for the release of two cheques worth Rs 11 crore each.
He was nabbed based on the complaint of one Balister, a resident of Badshahpur. The team caught the accused right after he released one cheque after receiving half the bribe.
Kanungo, booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act, will be produced in court on Thursday.
