Woman gang-raped in car on way back from Gurgaon mall

A 26-year-old Delhi woman was allegedly gang-raped by three men in a car on Sunday night when she was returning from a club at Sahara Mall on MG Road in Gurgaon.

A 26-year-old Delhi woman was allegedly gang-raped by three men in a car on Sunday night when she was returning from a club at Sahara Mall on MG Road in Gurgaon.

The woman was abducted from near Beverly Park-1 around 12.30am when she was returning in an auto to Munirka in Delhi, where she lives in a rented accommodation. The men offered her lift and allegedly raped her at an isolated place in Gurgaon.

The woman approached the Vasant Vihar police station on Monday morning and lodged an FIR. As the incident took place in Gurgaon, the Vasant Vihar police station registered a zero FIR and transferred the case to Gurgaon Police on Monday.

“We have registered a rape case against three unidentified men at the sector 29 police station and are conducting investigations,” ACP DLF Ramesh Pal said.

The police officer said that the victim lives in Munirka along with her two-year-old son.

In her complaint, the woman alleged that on Sunday night around 8pm, she reached Sahara Mall and visited a pub on the third floor and spent almost four hours with friends.

Around 12 midnight, she boarded an auto for Iffco Chowk and when she reached Beverley Park-1, a white car intercepted and offered her lift which she accepted.

Three men and a woman were already in the car, police said.

The car allegedly took a turn from Iffco Chowk towards Sushant Lok and headed towards Golf Course Road. The men stopped the car at an isolated spot and took turns to rape her.

The woman alleged she knew the woman already in the car. The victim had reportedly filed a case of assault against the woman in the car on February 18. At about 2am, the men allegedly pushed her out of the car at the same spot from where they had picked her up.
